About Seascape Sur Beach in Solana Beach, California
Seascape Sur Beach is a long sandy beach below the high bluffs in Solana Beach, CA. The gradual slope of the beach makes it wide at low tide and narrow (or all wet) at high tide. Most of the time it’s a great place to walk on the beach.
Seascape Sur Beach is below the Seascape Sur Condominiums (not sure which was named first). Surfing and bodyboarding are popular here so it is sometimes called Seascape Surf Beach. Oh, and some locals call it Seascape Shores Beach.
This is a family-friendly beach as it has lifeguards in the summer months (hours are 10am to 6pm daily). Swimming is generally safe here when the waves aren’t too high and the lifeguards are present. Just expect the water to be shockingly cold when you first get in.
After you get to the beach you might notice the storm drain that drips gooey black stuff onto the sand below the stairs. It’s best to set up your towel somewhere away from the stairs for this reason and don’t swim in the water after it has rained.
This public access is between The Seascape Sur condos and the Solana Beach & Tennis Club on South Sierra Avenue. Just look for the big blue access sign next to the tennis club gate and follow the path to a long stairway that descends to the beach. Free street parking is available and a public lot is across South Sierra Ave.
