Escondido Beach

Escondido Beach is a south-facing sandy beach east of Point Dume in Malibu, CA. The most direct beach access is a public gate at the bridge over Escondido Creek next to the address 27148 Pacific Coast Highway. Parking is a problem at this location. If you can enter the beach here, left is the beach in front of Malibu Cove Colony Drive and right is Escondido Beach. The better access is via a long public stairway just west of Geoffrey’s Malibu restaurant. There are a few public parking spaces here, but again it’s problematic. This access takes you to the other end of Escondido Beach where it is wider and more remote feeling.

You’ll find this access entrance next to address 27420 PCH. Like many of Malibu’s beaches there is little sand when the tide is high, but there is usually enough beach to walk west to Paradise Cove. This area is popular with scuba divers.
