Little Corona Del Mar Beach

Little Corona Del Mar Beach is a popular small beach at the end of a ravine called Buck Gully in the Newport Beach district of Corona Del Mar. This is a rocky cove that draws snorkelers and scuba divers and tide pool aficionados. Bring sturdy shoes to explore the rocks and tide pools north and south of the sandy beach.

Arch Rock, a pyramid-shaped rock arch, is visible offshore to the south. You can walk the uneven shoreline to near the rock and continue further south to a sandy hidden public beach called Cameo Shores Beach. Look for caves in the bottom of the bluff in the area near Arch Rock.

To get to Little Corona Del Mark Beach, drive Ocean Boulevard to Poppy Avenue and look for street parking nearby. From that intersection a long paved ramp descends gradually to the beach. A creek sometimes flows across the beach in this small cove. The city has done a lot to clean up this creek which gets runoff from adjacent neighborhoods. The wetlands in Buck Gully support many plants and animals, including a diverse selection of birds.

Scuba divers and snorkelers know this area as Robert E. Badham State Marine Park, a marine managed area between Poppy Avenue and Cameo Shores Road.
